I HAVE FAILED MANY TIMES, YET I RISE. 4 THINGS YOU MUST DO WHEN SITUATIONS AND PEOPLE ARE AGAINST YOU

I HAVE FAILED MANY TIMES, YET I RISE. 4 THINGS YOU MUST DO WHEN SITUATIONS AND PEOPLE ARE AGAINST YOU

After listening to many audio tapes and conferences on business and entrepreneurship, I ventured into a printing business in the third year of my university journey. Before I knew it, the business failed and I had no results to show for it after months of labor and investment. This was a tough time for me. I had no money because I used my pocket money and savings for the business with the hope that it will end well, but it ended in tears.

Little did I know that I got some golds during these times; they were business lessons and  I would say without these lessons, I wouldn’t have developed the necessary capacity for the assignments I got later in life. Often times, life will throw stones at us, but it’s our choice to make something out of it.

In this light, many of us may currently be the Landlords of our worlds enjoying the good things of life, and some of us may have been turned to Students learning hard lessons from the grand master of situations-life. Either ways, here’s a quick revelation: "nobody has been bestowed with the power to stop bad situations from happening, we can only handle it."

However, it is hard to maintain a positive attitude in any tough situations; I have been there. But you must understand that the only way out of it, is the change of attitude and focus on your goals. On the other hand, if we maintain a negative attitude, the situations will become worse.

Therefore, no matter what we might be going through, there is still hope. In fact, in the sagacious words of Dr. Robert H. Schuller, he said clearly: “Tough times never last, but tough people do.” This shows that tough situations are meant to make us better and stronger, not to destroy us; they are meant to open our mortal eyes to new possibilities and opportunities. But many of us only see, we don’t look.

In this case, I will be exposing you to four (4) powerful things you must do when people and situations are against you:

1. Master Your Reactions

The Thumperian’s principle states: “If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all.”

With this golden principle, you will always see possibilities and opportunities in any situation instead of complaining about it. It is possible to maintain positive attitude during bad situations without leaving out an objective appraisal of the situations. Am I saying you can’t cry? No! Crying is part of the therapy but it’s not enough to solve your problems.

That being so, you must learn how to take charge of your emotions and realize that you have no control over most things that happen to you, but you can control your reactions to them.

2. Change Your Game

The truth is that it’s hard to see opportunities in negative situations but you have to try.  Late Albert Einstein, an award-winning theoretical Physicist said: ”In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity, always endeavor to channel your strengths into something positive that will make your situation better, not worse.”

Therefore, you must always persist to see opportunities in your challenges no matter how small. This will help you to control your situations and re-frame your mind that the challenges are only working for your good, not to your destruction.

3. Stop Trying To Be Perfect

Nobody is perfect; we all make mistakes from time to time particularly if we desire to be successful in life. Most people don’t want to make mistakes or they blame others for their inadequacies. This only shows their need to be flawless and faultless which is impossible.

In other words, you must own the situation by admitting your personal mistakes which led to the situation and if you believe the situation is not your fault, then let go; learn from the mistakes and try not to repeat it again and if it repeats itself again, please don’t give up on yourself. The world needs you because you are a light in this world, though you may not realize it yet. If you subscribe below, I will help you to discover your full potentials.

4. Relax

Most times, when bad situations happen, we begin to worry as if worry is the solution but the reality is that we cannot control our surroundings. So, how can you turn bad situations into gold? You must gain control over yourself and the things you can influence in your favor through positive activity, not negative. Two of my activities are prayer and the word of God-they refresh and energize me. You can adopt it too . This is what works for me.

However, if things still didn’t work as planned, you mustn’t give up and you can always start again. But at this point, you have extra knowledge, skills that will better equip you for greater exploits in the days, months or years to come.

Finally, according to the wise words of Dr. Robert H. Schuller, “history is the best teacher of the fact that all our problems have a limited lifespan because all our past problems ended after a certain period. Thus, like our past challenges, our current hurdles will definitely end. Why? Because storms always pave way for the sun, and winter always thaws into spring. Your storm will, therefore, pass.”
